How
to change your career
Are
you dissatisfied with your career? Can you see yourself
doing the same thing in five or ten years? Are you feeling
burnt out, stuck, and unfulfilled? If so, perhaps it’s
time to start exploring new career options.
I know a bit about this because
I’m a career
changer myself! In my former life I was a
Sales and Marketing Vice President for an international
company for over ten years. I was one of millions of
individuals who fall into a job at a certain time in
their lives, become comfortable, and stay on way too
long. After awhile it became apparent to me (and those
who lived with me!) that I was unhappy and unfulfilled.
What interested and motivated me in my 20s no longer
did in my 30s. Soon it became obvious to me that change
had to occur.
My decision to leave my last
industry and change careers took time, patience, optimism,
creativity, courage, and endurance. It was a process
for me, and it can be a process for you too. I created
a team to support me, and a marketing plan to guide me.
Since changing careers over a decade ago I have helped
hundreds of people make this change as well.
The latest research shows
that people will change careers three or more times in
their life. A satisfying and fulfilling career is a big
part of a gratifying life, yet many people do not feel
happy in their current job, and feel too afraid or ‘stuck’ to
make a needed change.
Making the decision to change
careers can be overwhelming and intimidating. Gathering
up the strength to make a transition often takes guts,
smarts, patience, and a strong dose of optimism.
If you are not satisfied
with your current career, I am ready to help you make
the changes you will need to make your fantasy a reality.
Together we will
find your passion, tap into your strengths, love what
you do, and make a good living doing it!

• Create
accountability. We all need some level of
accountability. It’s helpful to find
someone in your circle of family or friends to whom
you can be accountable to. Make periodic reports on
your progress to this person or group, and let them
share in the ups and downs of your journey.
